Blepharoplasty – Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid Correction for a vital look

General:

Blepharoplasty is performed on patients as of 30 years of age for the removal of excess skin in the upper- and lower eyelid areas, as well as the removal of puffy bags beneath the eyes. The operation is carried out under local anaesthetic but if requested also with general anaesthetic.

Upper eyelid surgery (drooping eyelid surgery):

This procedure is a simple and long-lasting correction. The surgery takes 15 minutes per side. The sagging skin is removed as well as the fatty tissue. The wound is then sealed with adhesive and very fine thread and covered with surgical tape.

Lower eyelid surgery (eye bag removal):

This procedure is one of the most frequent performed on men over 50. A small incision is made on the lower edge of the eyelid just below the lashes. The skin is carefully peeled back to expose the fatty tissue filled with lymph liquid which is then removed. Finally, excess skin is very carefully resected and the wound closed by suturing. The eyelid surgery takes 15 minutes per side. Surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis but better still, in accordance with the new clinic concept, as an in-patient (hotel-guest). An intensive post-operative care program is also offered by the Beauty Farm.

Post-operative care:

Removal of small adhesive tape on first day after surgery. Use of cold compresses for four days, removal of stitches on the fourth day. With good care and attention after eight days swelling should have subsided. Invisible scarring. Special cosmetics.
